Why us?

Doodles for Colorado has been raising quality Goldendoodles in Boulder County since 2006. Our puppies are socialized in a family setting with plenty of love and attention, raised with children and also cats and bunnies. We breed for temperament and quality of genetics. All of our dogs are OFA certified for hips, eyes and heart. Our 3 children love to socialize the puppies as much as they can during those first 8 weeks of life. This is so important in shaping a confident and calm puppy. Since we are a small scale operation, only 2 litters per year, each puppy gets lots of loving! Our goal is to produce a healthy dog with a great temperament and we have been very successful in meeting that goal.

Our puppies are raised as part of our family with alot of love and attention and are nurtured in a safe environment. They grow up with plenty of sunshine and lots and lots of visitors. They also learn over the last few weeks how to use a dog door and get very competent at using it. We also crate train the puppies for 1 week prior to going to their new homes. This makes the transition to their new homes much easier.  We also try to expose them to animals, sounds, smells, different surfaces to walk on and people of all sizes.

We are very selective in our dogs that we use for breeding. We strive to produce puppies that are physically and genetically excellent as well as mellow and sweet in their personalities. We back up our breeding practices with a 2 year health guarantee and a puppy purchase agreement to protect you as a buyer and ensure the health of our puppies.

We breed F1 and F1B crosses of Goldendoodle puppies. We are located near Boulder County, in Broomfield, Colorado in vicinity to Denver, Colorado, Colorado Springs, Longmont, Greeley, Estes Park, Aurora, Lakewood, Arvada, Pueblo, Westminster, Thornton, Highlands Ranch, Grand Junction, Loveland, Southglenn, Littleton, Wheatridge, Northglenn, Ken Caryl, Castlewood, and Castlerock.

What is a goldendoodle?

The Goldendoodle is a cross between a golden retriever and a poodle. This combination gives the dog the intelligence and the low shedding, hypoallergenic coat of the poodle, along with the gentle, sweet, well-natured personality of the golden retriever. Their intelligence and eagerness to please make them easy to train, and they are wonderful with children and for those who suffer with allergies and/or asthma.

This breed benefits from the added health advantage of a hybrid vigor. As an F1, this is a phenomenon where a 1st cross between 2 unrelated purebred lives is healthier and grows better than either parent alone.The F1B are still close enough to benefit from the hybrid vigor. With each successive generation this vigor is lost. We only breed F1 and F1B. We do not breed any 2nd generation golden doodles. There is too much variation in these crosses.

F1 is a first generation golden doodle, which results from a golden retriever mated with a poodle (50%golden retriever and 50%poodle). F1B stands for a cross between a first generation golden doodle (F1) and a standard poodle. (75%poodle and 25%golden retriever) This makes them essentially non-shedding and a good choice for those who have significant allergies. This is the most likely of any to be non-shedding and allergy friendly of all the doodles.

Our puppies have an AKC registered golden-retriever or an F1 golden doodle mom and a standard size AKC registered poodle stud.
